Terms of Service — Guild Hall

By using Guild Hall (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you use it on behalf of a guild, you agree on that guild's behalf.

1. What the Service is

Guild Hall is a tool for managing MMO guilds — rosters, events, attendance, gear, loot, and match statistics — with login handled through Discord. It is provided by [YOUR NAME / HANDLE] ("we", "us").

2. Eligibility and accounts

You need a Discord account and membership in a participating guild's Discord server to use the Service. You're responsible for activity under your account. Access and permissions within a guild are set by that guild's officers, not by us.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: - upload content you don't have the right to upload, or that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing; - attempt to access data belonging to guilds or members you're not authorized to access; - probe, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; - misuse the screenshot/parsing features to submit content unrelated to legitimate guild use; - circumvent the permission or authentication systems.

We may suspend or remove access (yours or a guild's) for violations, or to protect the Service and its other users.

4. Your content and your guild's data

You and your guild retain ownership of the data you submit. You grant us the limited right to store, process, and display that data as needed to operate the Service (including sending screenshots to a third-party parsing service as described in the Privacy Policy). Guild officers control their guild's data, including who can see and delete it. We are not responsible for how a guild's officers or members use data within their own guild.

5. Third-party services

The Service relies on Discord, Supabase, Google (Gemini), and DigitalOcean. Your use is also subject to their terms, and we're not responsible for their acts, outages, or changes.

6. Availability — no guarantees

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", with no guarantee of uptime, and may change, break, or be discontinued at any time. This is especially true where the Service is offered for free. We are not liable for lost data, missed events, or guild disputes arising from downtime or errors. Keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a purpose). To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the prior 12 months (which for a free service is $0) or, where required by law, the minimum the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Not affiliated with the games or Discord

Guild Hall is an independent fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the publishers of any game it supports, or by Discord. All game names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

9. The software itself is open source

The Guild Hall software is licensed under the GNU AGPL-3.0. These Terms govern your use of the hosted Service we operate; the software license governs the code. If you self-host your own copy, these hosted-service Terms don't apply to you — the AGPL does, including its requirement to make your modified source available to your users.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and revoke access in your Discord settings. We may suspend or end access as described in Section 3, or if we discontinue the Service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms; the "last updated" date will change, and continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR STATE/COUNTRY — e.g. the State of Colorado, USA], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (Ask a lawyer before relying on this clause if you host users internationally.)
